• Welcome to Elaztek Studios, fellow Chaotic United member!

You probably have a lot of questions, so let's not waste any time, shall we?

    What is this place?

This is Elaztek Studios (shocking, I know). We are a game development company that has been born out of the struggles of both Chaotic United, Ruletech Games, and many other organizations/communities. We are a friendly community that has the same core values as Chaotic United, except instead of hosting Minecraft servers, we make games. We have many projects in the works at the moment, so feel free to stick around. Additionally, we have a great community of both old CU members and members all new to Elaztek. You'll feel right at home here coming from Chaotic United.

That paragraph sounded almost like something you would post if CU was closing/closed...what's going on?

No no no! Don't worry! CU won't be going anywhere anytime soon, I assure you. If you weren't thinking that at all, then, well, still. CU is going nowhere anytime soon. That being said I feel that we should explain the overall situation that led to Elaztek being launched.

The spoiler below contains information of the drama that occurred between CU and WindFrontier between January and April 2017. Only expand if you enjoy reading overly dramatic tales and the occasional cringe. If you already know what happened, or don't care to find out, keep scrolling.

    The Story So Far

Elaztek technically has existed since 2015. This domain was bought by haloman30 in 2016, and was launched in 2017.

Why was there such a huge gap between the idea stage, the domain purchase, and the actual launch of the studio? Chaotic United. All efforts were still focused exclusively on CU Minecraft and nothing else. There was very little discussion about interest in game development and not a lot was discussed within CU internally about it. Only haloman30 and AwakenedRage had real interest in game development. Or at least, that's all that was obvious at the time. Turns out after the fact that several others were as well. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Elaztek Studios was incidentally forced into launching to prevent what can only be described as total collapse of Chaotic United's ownership. It is entirely possible that, without Elaztek coming to fruition when it did, CU would have in fact closed in 2017 - just months before the http://chaoticunited.com domain was obtained. But why?

As described in this post on the CU forums, haloman30 was a miserable mess of an owner. From January to April 2017, there were dealings with a community called WindFrontier that resulted in a lot of drama and ultimately tore the staff team in two. The part that hated Aly, and the part that didn't. Judge as you will, the cause of the back and forth was haloman30 being incredibly indecisive. Why? What does this have to do with Aly? Well, Alycat was removed from ownership by haloman30, under the guidance of Windwhistle - the owner of WindFrontier. Aly wasn't just an owner of CU, but a close friend of haloman30. This friendship is what caused so much back and forth, and eventually, the need for a big change.

Chaotic United, since its 2014 revival, was run as a fun hobby project. The core issue that led to all this senseless drama is that it was being run as a business. Worse is that this wasn't a conscious decision by haloman30, and Aly had no say in the entire ordeal other than to try and beg haloman30 to see the reality.

Aly was thrown out for being immature, childish, and deemed unfit for ownership and voted out by the entire team. As of October 2017, several of those votes have been taken back. Not directly, but in actions. And while, yes, Alycat can be childish, immature, and all of these things, at the end of the day, CU was started as a fun project. A project to bring back the awesome gaming community started in 2011 by two unknown folk, and later owned by Killerteddy until 2014. A project undertaken by haloman30 and Alycat.

If you view CU as nothing more than a business where things are done for the sake of what may or may not be best for the sake of getting CU's name recognized by the masses, then perhaps Aly shouldn't be an owner. But that's not what CU is. CU was, is, and always will be a gaming community - owned by two friends who met in 2012 and stayed friends ever since. Through ups and downs, through quarrels and fights, through pain and joy, these two friends have stuck together.

And that was not to be broken by WindFrontier for the sake of some players and a restructuring of CU into something that haloman30 wasn't happy with.

The final event that occurred that caused Elaztek to launch was when haloman30 once again wanted to bring Aly back into CU ownership. Wind finally had enough, and left to WindFrontier - and there he stayed. The staff and members of CU who also wanted an escape from Alycat were instructed to go to Elaztek. In fact, all CU staff were given equivalent positions within Elaztek upon arrival.

Since then, CU and Elaztek while remaining separately operated, sort of continue to work close together. The two will never be run under the same roof again, but will likely continue to work with each other into the future.

Wow bro, that was cheesy and really dramatic.

Well, yes. Take that drama and multiply it x100 and you'll be about on the same level of drama in CU for the first part of 2017.

Argh! You guys are just full of drama! I bet the same stuff goes on here too!

Absolutely not. Elaztek has a very strict anti-drama policy. Chaotic United has also gotten this policy passed down to it. The plan is to prevent anything remotely close to that event from ever occurring again. If drama of any sort starts happening, it gets shut down and those involved are told to take it to private messages instead of public space. Additionally, the requirements to become a team member have been tweaked to prevent anyone with any beef with the staff from getting placed into a position of power. Let alone being put into a position of power because you had beef with a staff member. (Yes, we were that stupid. Cringe all you like - I'm doing the same just typing this).

Why go into that much detail about the events that led to Elaztek's creation?

We feel that it is an important part of Elaztek's story that should not be forgotten. As awful as it is, we hold the belief that if we simply pretend it never happened, we open the door for it to happen again. And we really don't want Elaztek to be split up in favor of a clean slate.

Was there any other way CU could have continued without the creation of another group?

Sure. Our other plan was to do a nuke-and-pave. Needless to say, that wasn't exactly the most ideal solution. Additionally, it didn't fix the root issue of CU being run without Halo's friend by his side.

    Isn't this page drama?

Yes, yes it is. But this is where it ends. There is a single post within the News & Announcements forum relating to WF and CU and the whole thing, but that's it. These are important posts for telling the events that occurred and not to perpetuate drama.

What projects are you working on?

As of October 2017, we are working on Project: Infinity, a fan-made Halo game, which will be free-to-play (as per Microsoft's Game Content Usage Rules). Additionally, we are working on Raven Runner, a project inherited from Ruletech Games which is a mobile-focused dungeon runner game. Both are in pre-alpha stages and are very early in development.

Additionally, we offer several gameservers in the style of CU including ARK: Survival Evolved, CS:GO, Unturned, and more.

    Your forums look awful empty...

No worries! As with CU, a lot of the discussion happens on our Discord server. Check it out below.

I have a rank on CU. Do I get it on Elaztek?

Yes! Your Veteran and/or Premium rank on CU will be transferred over to Elaztek. Just notify an admin and they will verify that you are the same person, then you'll get your rank fixed up.

    I have more questions!

No problem. Shoot a PM to haloman30 on Discord or right here on the Forums.
